Project MANEO

Since 1990, the Berlin Anti-Violence-Project MANEO has been existing as an independent project of Mann-O-Meter e.V. MANEO is the most experienced and best-known gay Anti-Violence-Project in Germany.

On August 30th 2010, we celebrated our 20th Anniversary with a benefit gala at TIPI am Kanzleramt. 500 guests filled the sold-out tent up to the last seat.

Nobel prize winner visits MANEO

Northern Irish nobel prize winner and wearer of the Carl von Ossietzky Medal, Mairead Corrigan-Maguire, visited on December 12th 2010 a personal friend: MANEO-project manager Bastian Finke. On this occasion she collected information on the recent developments in the anti-violence work of MANEO. “Your work is exemplary“, said Mairead Corrigan-Maguire.

MANEO helps gay and bisexual men affected by antigay violence and discrimination, no matter if as victim, witness or life partner.

MANEO provides educational work on antigay violence and its consequences and performs public relations work.

Case studies

Violence against gays is horrible– and unfortunately commonplace. MANEO documents all acts of violence and crimes reported to the project.

MANEO records antigay acts of violence, covering all from insults up to assaults, and documents die incidents in order to derive protective measures against violence.
