Benefit party 2010

From the beginning of April until the end of May MANEO was able to mobilize a lot of support within the gay scene for the annual benefit party.

In 2010, eleven event- and party managers took part in this action on the occasion o the International Day against Homophobia:
Sex- Dance XXL (FateClub), Smegma (Panorama Bar, Berghain), Connection Club, Bollox (Loreley), Cityboy (Loreley), Boyteschema (Rauschgold), GMF (Weekend), Propaganda (Goya), Repeat (SchwuZ), Meschugge (ZMF), Daenzgedoenz (SchwuZ).

They donated 1-2 Euros per entrance fee to MANEO’s victim help and the „Rainbow Bridge“, a common initiative supporting the victims of the attack on the gay and lesbian centre in Tel Aviv in August 2009. All events together donated 3.300 €.

At these events the guests can set a sign for tolerance with a kiss. With the benefit parties and the Kiss Marathon 1.000 kisses for tolerance were collected - to show that homophobia and hateful violence do not have a place in Berlin and the world.

People from all over the world kissed at those events: many from our European neighbour states, even from the USA, Canada and Australia. With their kisses they expressed their solidarity for tolerance and set a sign. This shows that Berlin and the Berlin people are still valued for their diversity and tolerance.

The kiss-event was continued on June 12th and 13th on the Lesbian and Gay City Festival Berlin around the scene at Nollendorfplatz.
