The International MANEO Conference 2011

Following the success of the three European MANEO Conferences (2006-2008) MANEO has invited representatives from metropolitan cities across the World to an International Conference that will take place in Berlin from 30.11.2011 to 03.12.2011. The theme of the Conference is “Building a queer and tolerant neighbourhood”. In many cities there are “Rainbow Neighbourhoods” They radiate liveliness and diversity. For city managers their importance lies in the signal that they can give that the city is socially open and tolerant. We want to organise an international experience exchange and debate on the potential benefits and development possibilities that these neighbourhoods can offer their regions.

Along with the Conference itself we are offering our guests a special social programme which includes: A reception at the Berlin Town Hall, a visit to Europe’s largest Revue theatre the “Friedrichstadtpalast”, a tour of the Berlin’s historic sites, a discovery walk through “Pink Schöneberg” and its inimitable scene night clubs – The social programme is supported by our over 70 business partners. Although our Conference invitation to Berlin is limited to a few days we hope that our guest’s stays will be enjoyable, interesting, and contain valuable professional experiences.
